Mar 6 The one thing I wish I knew earlier on was how to farm characters and gear effectively. I know there are a lot of guides out there but I wanted to put something together for the GoingNerdy readers to help them learn how to farm effectively. If you are already an expert and noticed something I left out, please leave a comment in the section below. Find out who you want and research them.
In the beginning, you are going to want to farm those characters that are most available to you. These are the Jedi, Sith, and Empire, and Droids who have the most nodes or who are available in the various stores and shops.
Luminara, Phasma, Mace, and 5s are all easy characters to get. There are dozens of other characters who have multiple hard and cantina nodes and are available in other locations. When looking at who to farm, look at who you already have.
Look for characters that will bolster your ranks and make you more formidable in Galactic War and Squad Arena. This will help you rank higher, which will result in more crystals, which will then turn into more opportunities to farm characters. And so on. The best advice I have is look at the different farmable areas and make a list of overlapping characters your squads could benefit from and go after it. I cannot tell you how many times I have gotten distracted over the last year and I have wasted time farming ineffectively.
Either because there were a few people I was farming at once, or because I felt the drop rate for another toon would be better. Sometimes it goes up, sometimes it goes down, but it almost always averages out to be one in three. The key to farming effectively is knowing who you are farming and sticking to it.
It can be easy to go after a new character or someone who you read a review about. Whoever you start to farm, stay with them until you level them out. When you first start out as a newbie, you get crystals hand over fist.
Every time you level up and every battle you beat for the first time leads to more and more crystals. The first thing you need to know about crystals is how many you get on a daily basis. There are different crystal amounts you can earn in any given day, a few are set while others vary depending on your level.
Each day you can earn:. There are also crystals available for completing a level for the first time, daily login rewards, and for various achievements. On average, you can expect just a little over crystals a day, depending on your ranking in SA and how you fair in GW. Purchasing crystals can get very expensive. Unless you are looking at becoming a whale, someone who pays large amounts of money to get the latest content, this is not the way to go.
There are a few times that buying crystals is wiser than others. The first is when crystals go on sale. From time to time, the powers that be set the cost of the crystal purchases as a reduced rate. Or, more precisely, offer more crystals for the same price. If you decide to make a purchase, this is the exact time to do it. You get more for your money and are capable of doing some serious good with what you buy.
A word of warning though: if you are going to make the investment, consider going big. The more you spend, the more you get. So a package worth dollars during a sale will go farther than buying a package worth 20 or even 50 and will yield greater results. The other way of buying crystals that I recommend is purchasing the Daily Crystal Booster. All players must first start with the Mod Battles area of the game which opens at Level Mod Battles and Challenges utilize Mod Energy for each battle and any characters within the roster can be used to fight each battle.
Each stage of Mod Battles refers to a different mod set. Stage 9 Mod Battles do not provide mods, but Mod Slicing salvage instead. It may be tempting to farm mods from the Mod Battles because the Mod Battles allow players to select a specific set and shape. Complete all battles from the first 8 stages of the Mod Battles to unlock all the Mod Challenges and then, only do the Mod Challenges afterward. Mods should only be farmed from the Mod Challenges. After completing the first three stages of Mod Battles, the Mod Challenges will unlock with the first mod challenges: Health, Defense, and Critical Damage.
Once all Mod Battles stages are completed, the remaining challenges will open. The Mod Store will also open after completing the first three stages of Mod Battles. Tenancity and Critical Chance Crit Chance or CC set mods can have their uses and are better than running characters with no mods at all, but the bonuses that they provide are not always as powerful as Offense or Potency, and are very ability kit-dependent.
Health is the most basic mod set and offers a direct boost in character health, but once other mod sets become available, Health mods should not be a focus. Mods can be purchased in the Mod Store after completing the first three stages of the Mod Battles.
Like other stores in the game, the Mod Store refreshes once every 6 hours, but unlike other stores, the Mod Store can be manually refreshed for just 15 crystals instead of 50 crystals.
The Mod Store offers mods in any rarity or quality and mods are available for both credits and ship building materials Ships credits. There is no difference between the mods available for credits verus Ships credits, outside of the source of the currency. While the sporadic Credit Heists are available to supply upwards of 10 million credits at a time, nothing similar exists for Ships credits, so the currency is in general rarer and should be spent more conservatively.
Grey mods should be rarely purchased, if at all. The only good grey mod to purchase is an arrow shape with the Speed primary. For example, a Green mod Tier D with the Speed secondary showing will have a chance for Speed increase one time when the mod is upgraded to Level 12, and the other secondaries have been displayed.
A gold mod with Speed showing as any of the four secondaries has a chance for Speed to increase at Levels 3, 6, 9, and Do note, however, that this increase is not always guaranteed.
There is a chance that even a gold mod with Speed showing could have all the other secondaries increase and the Speed secondary could still remain the same. In many, many cases, grey mods will gain any other secondary stat other than Speed, which can be frustrating. Prior to Mods 2.Below you will find a couple of links to help you get.

Boba's Alliance has agreed to start posting blogs and guides to keep the page alive. If you've never. SWGOH's game design is going in the wrong direction. Until now was a long and boring year, and the recent additions are not showing improvements.
I'll give my thoughts on this using Revan as turning point. The fleet arena provides one of the rarest ressource : zeta materials. Fleet arena rewards are scaled strongly in favor of the first places.

This guide will do little to prepare you for future shifts in the meta which are difficult, if not impossible, to predict and do little to allow early flexibility in team composition. Before anyone is offended, you can be considered a successful player by playing this game in any number of different ways. It is a game after all.
Gear Buying Guide
But bear in mind, this guide is not directed at you. Google can help fill in any blanks as you go. This guide is intended for free to play players or for players who are willing to invest only modest amounts of money into the game.
The advice in this section relates to those playing on iOS only, we imagine the mechanics are similar for those playing on android but we are too unfamiliar to say for sure. Before getting too excited, the optimal path to begin playing can take days to weeks for those committed. We are looking for two things with our new account. If you lack patience, one or the other is acceptable but be aware that you are starting even further behind the curve than those who will outspend you. If pm local time is a bad time for you to log in to ensure the highest arena ranking possible, consider adjusting your initial time zone accordingly.
An added benefit of this trick is to have a less competitive time of day in which to compete for your arena payout. Eastern time and Pacific time are two of the more heavily contested time zones. Step 1: Head to applied. Use a GMail account for this step unless you are comfortable with creating only one account and risking starting behind. For example, with one GMail address, such as berniesanders4prez gmail. This will save the time and frustration of creating multiple email addresses.
Unfortunately, this step cannot be skipped or auto completed. This process will take you through light side battles 1-A and 1-B. Change your in game name when offered if you choose. At the time of this writing, there is no way to change it later. Step 4: Complete light side battle 1-C. Purchase energy and sim tickets for 50 crystal and sim light side battle 1-C twice. Collect your free Jawa and claim your daily activities. Step 5: At this time you should be level 5.
Press the gear in the top left corner of your home screen and connect your account to facebook. This will grant you crystals. Because of the way in which new characters are unlocked and upgraded, it is important that this character be one worth playing for at least 2 weeks, ideally for longer.
Otherwise, we may be stuck with a less than competitive team and fall behind the whales. By this time, you should be close to 5 staring her, where she will remain competitive even at level The second best option is Barriss Offee, who will ease the frustration of GW for the forseeable future and is a reasonable, though not great, squad arena healer until later levels.
Note that for your first account created within several hours, you may want to continue through step 7 to see where your new account would stand with initial arena ranking. Nothing is more frustrating than unlocking Rey only to find that your initial Arena Ranking is 19, Step 7: Continue to level your account to level 8 by using sim tickets to complete light side battle 1-C several times and by claiming more daily activities.
At this time you will unlock squad arena and be able to see your initial arena ranking.Home Discussions Best Of Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes Forums. New player? Check out the new player index. Share news, tips, tricks and connect with other players in the forums!

Crystals are awarded in game for completing all kinds of tasks, but they can be purchased with actual money for those who want to get ahead of the competition.
One of the biggest mistakes new players make is saving their crystals or spending their money purchasing Chromium Mega-Packs. I cannot stress how much of a massive waste of resources it is to buy those packs.
The rewards are little and the RNG awards nothing but easily farmable materials to begin with.
The only exception to this is the first day you play the game. The best place to spend your crystals is to refill your Cantina Energy. Each day you get 3 refreshes for crystals, then 3 for and so on. If you are a free-to-play player, only spend your crystals on those first three daily refreshes.
If nothing else, avoid the packs like the plague. They are just money dumps. Maybe this will be helpful for you or not, I can tell you I believe this is the most efficient strategy for dominating this game. This strategy is designed to get you Rebel Commander Luke as quickly as possible. New article coming soon and he is pretty much part of every non-empire and non-night sisters META teams optimized by role. Getting him is a long and difficult journey.
He only appears during special legendary events, so keep in mind that if you try to side step my instructions and focus on a different toon than suggested, you might lose out on an event that so far is only held once a year, so diverge at your own risk. There is a lot to cover on this subject, but the simplest way to look at it is focus on 5 characters and ignore the rest.
If you get a new character you want to replace a member of your squad with, spend zero resources on the toon you are changing out and then pump all your resources into the new character until it is on par with the rest of the team. There are several reasons this is your best strategy.
The first is completing Galactic War. Galactic War picks your opponents based on your total galactic power. If your power is spread out across 20 mid-range toons, the system is going assume most of it is coming from your strongest five toons and pit you against really difficult teams. Having percent of your power coming from your primary team will result in a lot of easy battles, which means a lot more resources. The second reason this works well is that it gives you an early lead in Squad Arena.
I cannot stress how crucial being in the top is. This means you get character shards or more per day from the Squad Arena shop, which has a lot of characters you will absolutely need mid-late game. If you start hitting gearing walls such as raid gear beginning at gear level 8then start gearing other teams, but save as much of your credits as possible for leveling and gearing your main team. Once you hit level 70, leveling them will start to get expensive and managing your credits will become the make or break component of your strategy.
